Film screening

Brattleboro- The Architecture + Design Film Series will screen “My Architect: A Son’s Journey” (2003, Directed by Nathaniel Kahn, USA, 116 min) on Wednesday, December 12, at 6:30 pm at 118 Elliot. Doors open at 6 pm. Films are free and open to all.
“My Architect: A Son’s Journey” is a riveting tale of love, art, betrayal, and forgiveness, as the only son of legendary architect Louis I. Kahn undertakes a worldwide exploration to discover and understand his father. While Kahn’s artistic legacy was a search for truth and clarity, his personal life was secretive and chaotic. His mysterious death in a train station left behind three families, one with his wife and two from long-term affairs. Revealing the haunting beauty of his father’s monumental creations and taking us deep within his own divided family, Nathaniel Kahn’s personal journey becomes an investigation of identity, a celebration of art and of life itself.
The Architecture + Design Film Series, started five years ago in Burlington, selects diverse films celebrating design in all forms. Through the generosity of the American Institute of Architects Vermont Chapter and local sponsors, the monthly screenings will also be held at 118 Elliot through May 2019.   Film showings are free and open to all, presented to foster understanding and stimulate conversation about the impact of design and beauty in our daily lives.
