Fair trade discussion

PUTNEY- The Landmark College spring academic speaker series concludes with a discussion of entrepreneurism and fair trade by Dr. Tamara Stenn, on Tuesday, April 9, at 7 pm, in the Brooks M. O’Brien Auditorium, located in the East Academic Building.
The talk, entitled “When Fair Trade is Not Fair Enough: The Bolivian Quinoa Journey” covers how Stenn’s Fulbright research in the quinoa fields of Bolivia led to an intersection of ancient culture and world markets.
Stenn is an assistant professor in the department of professional studies at Landmark College, teaching economics, entrepreneurship and innovation. She is also the founder and CEO of Kusikuy, a fair trade fashion brand of hand-knit treasures made by indigenous women in Bolivia from the world’s finest alpaca. She received her doctorate in arts leadership from Franklin Pierce University and has authored two books on the subject of fair trade, including the 2017 publication of “Social Entrepreneurship as Sustainable Development.” This event is free and open to the public.
