Enjoy an afternoon of opera
BRATTLEBORO- The 2019 season of The Met: Live in HD continues on Saturday, March 30, at noon at the Latchis Theatre with Richard Wagner’s “Die Walkure.”
Christine Goerke plays Brunnhilde, Wotan’s willful warrior daughter, who loses her immortality in opera’s most famous act of filial defiance. Tenor Stuart Skelton and soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek play the incestuous twins Siegmund and Sieglinde. Geer Grimsley sings Wotan, and Jamie Barton is Fricka. Philippe Jordan conducts.
General admission is $22, $20 for Met Club Forever members, and $10 for students. Because of The Hatch Storytellers on a Mission event Saturday night, “Die Walkure” will not be shown in the Main Theatre. Running time is 5 hours, 13 minutes, including two intermissions.
