Alumni return for action-packed dance performance

MARLBORO– Marlboro College will present an action-packed performance by nine alumni dancers on Friday evening, September 27, part of the college’s Home Days alumni weekend. The performance will begin at 7 pm, in the Serkin Center for the Performing Arts Dance Studio, and will be followed by an informal reception in the Serkin Center lobby. The show is free and open to the public.
The alumni dance showcase will feature nine alumni who studied dance at Marlboro and are still actively working in the field of dance, as choreographers, dancers, and teachers, from the class of 1994 to the class of 2018. Those performing are Shura Baryshnikov, ’03, Hannah Ruth Brothers, ’14, Heather Bryce ,’04, Sharoan Cohen, ’94, Biz Hallett, ’05, Cookie Harrist, ’12, Amity Jones, ’10, Erika Klemperer, ’15, and Karissa Wolivar, ’18.
Each artist will have 10 minutes on the program to present a dance they’ve choreographed. Most of the artists will perform their own work, and some will be joined by their company members or collaborators. Alumni are traveling from New York, California, and all around New England to participate. Although this event is free and open to the public, register at www.marlboro.edu/alumnidance2019.
The alumni dance showcase will kick off a lively Home Days alumni weekend, featuring lectures, panel discussions, outdoor activities, and celebrations.
Many of the activities are open both to Marlboro alumni and to the families of current students. Learn more and register at www.marlboro.edu/alumni19.
