“Aladdin JR” a nonstop adventure
WHITINGHAM- The Twin Valley Players production of Disney’s “Aladdin JR” is playing at Twin Valley Middle High School on Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6, at 7 pm.
The spectacular 60-minute musical is based on the 1992 Disney film and the 2014 Broadway adaptation. The cast includes 23 middle and high school students, and six third-graders from Twin Valley Elementary School. Director is Carrie Blake, and musical director is Barbara Lipstadt.
Join Aladdin (Matthew Hammond), Jasmine (Catherine Thomas), and the fast-talking, wisecracking Genie (Bridget Schneider) as they discover mystical caves, take magic carpet rides, and outwit the evil sorcerer, Jafar (Emma Dornburgh). Cast members also include: Kaley Mola, Lincoln Hurley, Peytyn Bernard, Tim Cantakos, Jack Mosher, Jerry Mosher, Kaylin Roth, Elizabeth Barber, Abby Pratt, William Drummey, Makaylah Williams, Sylvia Mill, Winter Nakos, Desiree Moore, Fiona Toole, Molly Kehoe, River Myska, Scarlett Cimino, Mazey Clerici, Aliyah Walker, Jenna Kehoe, Wyatt Maguire, Trevor Magnant, Kaitlyn Hartman, and Megan Robart.
Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Alan Menken songs such as “Friend Like Me,” “A Whole New World,” and “Prince Ali,” as well as wonderful new songs added for the Broadway production. With new, colorful characters and nonstop adventure, “Aladdin JR” is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for all ages.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students and are available at the door. All proceeds go toward costs of future productions.
