Wildcats survive overtime battle with Bears, turn back Golden Horde

WILMINGTON- Earlier this season, Twin Valley boys’ coach Buddy Hayford said “the soccer gods can be cruel” following an overtime loss. On Friday, September 17, the gods smiled on the Wildcats as they pulled out a 2-1 overtime win against the Stratton Mountain School Bears.
“I’m not sure the best team won,” said Hayford. “I felt like we stole one. That’s the game of soccer.  We’ve certainly been on that end before, where you outplay the opponent and end up on the losing side of the score.”
