Wildcats slip up on Slaters, beat the Horde, lose close match to Rebels

WILMINGTON-  The soccer gods can often play cruel tricks on teams. Such was the case on a rainy Thursday evening, when it looked like the Twin Valley Wildcats were going to rally from a 3-1 deficit and sneak out with a much-needed win over visiting Fair Haven.  But the deities had other plans, as the Slaters scored an improbable goal to tie the match and then won it after a mad scramble in the second overtime.
“Fair Haven has a nice team,” said Twin Valley coach Buddy Hayford. “They didn’t catch us by surprise, we knew it would be a tough time.”
