STOWE - Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum presents, “Vermont’s Churchill Ettinger; 40 Years of Ski Art,” Thursday, November 14, at 7 pm via Zoom.
Vermont’s own Ettinger (1903 -1984) was one of the most accomplished and prolific painters of skiing in the 20th century. His painting career paralleled the postwar development of recreational skiing in the United States from the late 1940s through the early 1980s. Skiing was the artist’s passion and in one three-year period in the 1960s he skied and painted 18 ski areas in five different countries.
