Twin Valley kicks off track season

ROCKINGHAM-  Area high schools opened up the 2022 track and field season at Hadley Field on Wednesday, April 13, as Bellows Falls Union High School hosted the first meet of the season.
Local athletes competed and placed in a variety of events.
Twin Valley sent five athletes to the meet.  In the boys’ 100-meter dash, Cody Magnant tied for 10th with a time of 12.87 seconds.  Robert Mola was right behind him, posting a 12.97 time. Lucky Lucchesi finished 18th with a 13.61.  Lucchesi finished sixth in the 1,500-meter run. Noah Dornburgh finished 12th in the shot put and eighth in the long jump. Lucchesi was 13th in the javelin throw and 17th in the shot.
Twin Valley’s Dakota Larey posted a 28.85, good for 18th in the girls 100-meter dash. She also finished 18th in the girls’ discus.
Dover resident Jack Cady, a ninth grader at Brattleboro Union High School, finished 13th in the 100, sixth in the 200, and ninth in the high jump.
Brattleboro won the overall boys’ team title with a score of 149. The host Terriers were second with a score of 126, followed by Hartford, Green Mountain, White River Valley, and Twin Valley. Bellows Falls took the girls’ team win with a score of 155 with White River Valley second and Brattleboro third.
The teams will be back on the track on Saturday, April 30, at the Windsor Invitational at the Murphy-Morse Track and Field Complex at Windsor High School. First event goes off at 9:30 am.
