DORSET- The Twin Valley Middle High School boys’ varsity soccer team finally got a chance to play its first game of the season. After a sluggish start the team found its stride, and the goal, to take an 8-1 win over host Long Trail School.
The match was a rare meeting on the pitch between the two schools, according to longtime Twin Valley coach Buddy Hayford.
“We had only played them once before when Ryan Holton (now JV coach) was on the (Wilmington High) team in the ‘90s,” said Hayford. “I didn’t know what to expect, so we went expecting to play a good squad.”
