Run, stroll or walk for health and fitness


A participant in last year’s Spring into Health 5K runs by Grace Cottage Hospital.

TOWNSHEND - Registration is now open for the Grace Cottage Spring into Health 5K. The family-friendly event takes place Saturday, May 12, Mother’s Day weekend, starting at 8:30 am on the Townshend Common.
The race will be professionally timed for competitors, but is open to all, whether they run, walk, roll or stroll.  The course is 3.1 miles of mainly flat, paved road along Grafton Road (Route 35). Healthy snacks and water will be provided, free T-shirts for the first 100 to register.
After the run, there will be awards, raffles, and general merriment. There is also a free fun run for kids 8 and under on the Common at 9:15 am. The event is held rain or shine, and wraps up around 10:15 am.
Runners, walkers, strollers or wheelchair participants can register online for an early bird rate of just $12 for adults, $8 for kids at www.gracecottage.org/events or by calling (802) 365-9109. Online registration closes at noon Wednesday, May 9. Participants can register at the race between 7:45  and 8:15 am for a price of $20 for adults, $10 for kids with no guarantee of getting a T-shirt. Parking is available across the street at Leland & Gray High School.
