Lucchesi headed to league championship
WHITINGHAM- Twin Valley track and field athlete Lucky Lucchesi has qualified for the Southern Vermont League championship meet, according to coach Buddy Hayford. Lucchesi, a junior, will compete in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter runs and throw the javelin.
At the Springfield Invitational on May 10, Lucchesi finished sixth in the 1,500, and ninth in the 800 and 200. On Tuesday, May 17, at Bellows Falls, Lucchesi placed second in the 400 with a time of 1 minute, 7.26 seconds. He also finished fourth in the javelin. Both results were personal records.
