Fundraiser cycle ride for Grace Cottage

Riders from last year’s Tour de Grace at the finish.

TOWNSHEND – Registration is open for the Tour de Grace Bicycle Rally,  a unique, family-friendly ride held on Saturday, June 29, to benefit Grace Cottage Hospital.
The scenic ride is 19 miles, mostly downhill, from Stratton Mountain Resort to Grace Cottage Hospital. The route goes down country roads, through Jamaica Village, on the wooded Old Route 30 trail, over the Townshend Dam, and through the Scott Covered Bridge. Sturdy tires are recommended, and helmets are required. Bike rentals are available with advance request.
Riders start at Stratton Mountain Base Lodge between 8 and 10 am. The average ride time is an hour and a half to two hours. Buses and trucks return riders and bikes back uphill to Stratton, or a person can ask about parking at Grace Cottage and taking the bus up the mountain first, then riding down to your car (advance reservations required).
Rest stops along the route will provide riders with free beverages and snacks. Neon performance T-shirts will be given to the first 100 riders who sign up.
Registration is $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the ride. The ride may sell out due to transportation limits, so advance reservations are recommended. The event will be held rain or shine. More information, a route description, and online registration are available at www.gracecottage.org/events or call (802) 365-9109.
