Snowboarders from around the region headed to Stratton Mountain for the annual Vermont Open, held on March 14. Above, Tucker Baribault, number eight, of Bondville, rides high on a banked turn. He finished 12th in the men’s age 13-17 category.  A number of local riders placed well in the event. Joshua Wylie, of South Londonderry, was the overall winner. Noah Avellone, of Stratton, was sixth overall and fourth in the 13-17 group. Top female rider was Allie Nowicki, of West Wardsboro. Her brother Ben was ninth in the men’s 13-17.  Hunter Bernard, of Jacksonville, won the men’s 18-25 category. Brennan Cofiel, of Wilmington, finished fifth and Brian Donovan, of West Wardsboro, seventh in the men’s 35-43 group.  Olivia Berg, of West Wardsboro, was sixth in the women’s 13-17.
