Police offering free helmets

WILMINGTON- The Wilmington Police Department has recognized a need to promote helmet safety in the community due to a large number of children without helmets. To help address this safety concern the department is coordinating a free bicycle and sport helmet program again this year.  The program partners with a helmet manufacturer selected by SafeKids VT that has agreed to sell helmets at cost. This program is limited to students enrolled in grades  kindergarten to five at Twin Valley Elementary School.
The goal of the program is to get every child a helmet and educate them about helmet safety.  In order to accomplish this goal the helmets are free for Twin Valley Elementary School families.  This year Great River Hydro has generously agreed to sponsor the cost of the helmets for this program.
Order forms  can be downloaded at   http://wilmingtonvermont.us.
Helmets will be delivered to the addresses provided on the order forms. Only order one helmet per child and please only order if a helmet is needed, as funds are limited.
Complete and return the order form by May 1.  Return by email to wilmingtonpdemail@gmail.com or mail to Wilmington Police Department, 2 East Main Street, Wilmington, VT 05363.
