Unclaimed property returned

MONTPELIER- The Vermont State Treasurer’s Office announced recently that a record 17,665 unclaimed properties totaling $6.7 million were returned to their rightful owners in the fiscal year ending June 30.
The number of dollars paid out rose 24% over the previous year, setting a new record. With a growing list of Vermonters claiming their missing money, treasurer Beth Pearce reminded residents that it only takes moments to visit www.MissingMoney.Vermont.gov to check to see if someone is on the list.
