Steven R. Williams
JACKSONVILLE- Steven R. Williams, 65, died February 4 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He was born in Bennington on April 18, 1955, the son of Richard and Marie Moore Williams. Mr. Williams received his early education in Wilmington schools and graduated from Kenmore East High School in New York. He worked as a truck driver for his entire working career. He owned and operated his own trucks, worked for TIME-DC, S&W, Schanno Transportation, Waste Management, and VTRANS. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his family. Mr. Williams enjoyed his dogs and cats and rescued pit bulls from New York City.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife Lori Winter Williams, of Jacksonville, whom he married in 1978; children Danny Hillman, of Caneadea, NY, Jason Williams, of Jacksonville, and Veronica Williams, of Jacksonville; his mother Marie Williams, of Jacksonville; sister Jackie Williams, of Putney; and grandchildren Kayla, Anthony (who Steven raised from childhood), Ariana, Nicholas, and Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Kelley Williams, his father Richard Williams, and brother Thomas Williams. At the request of the family, there are no formal funeral services.
