Roudolf Comai

MERIDEN, NH- Roudolf (Rudy) Comai, 82, died peacefully on February 3 after spending his final evening in the company of his wife, his children, and grandchildren who had gathered to be by his side.
Rudy was born on April 21, 1940, in Wilmington, VT, son of Rizieri and Mary (Jarvis) Comai, and was raised in Readsboro, VT. He attended primary school in the classrooms that were atop the old firehouse on School Street, and attended St. Joseph High School in North Adams, MA, until he began his service as an electrician in the US Navy.
Rudy wed Madeline (Mandy) Dassatti on April 27, 1963. They settled in Readsboro where they raised their five children. Rudy worked as an electrician at Sprague Electric, in North Adams, MA, and then at Yankee Atomic Electric, in Rowe, MA, from where he ultimately retired. In the last years of his life Rudy and Mandy resided in Meriden, NH, near their daughter Gina and her family.
He leaves a vibrant legacy: his wife of 60 years, Mandy; his sons Christopher (Kirsten), Matthew (Nancy), Vincent (Luana), and Jonathan (Brooke); daughter Gina (Steve); 18 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He also leaves his half sisters Sheila Jones (Comai), Kathy Hiehle (Comai), half brother Rizieri Comai, and many nieces and nephews.
Rudy was preceded in death by his mother Mary; his father Rizieri and his wife Lena Lowe; his sister Julia; and his brother Dennis.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Readsboro, VT, at St. Joachim’s Church on Saturday, April 22, at 11 am. A burial at the Readsboro Cemetery will follow.
