Roberta Button

CHELSEA - Roberta “Bunny” Joanne Button, 75, died on Saturday, March 5, after a long illness, at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family and friends.
Bunny was born on June 26, 1946, to Robert J. and Evelyn Strange Carey in East Dover. She attended Canaan and Dover Elementary schools and Brattleboro High School, class of 1964.
After high school, Bunny resided in East Dover and West Chesterfield, NH, working at First Vermont Bank and Trust in Brattleboro. Upon moving to Chelsea, she worked for National Life Insurance Company for 25 years. She also worked at HEB Manufacturing. She was secretary/treasurer for the Chelsea Fire Department and secretary for Chelsea Fish and Game Club. In 1985 Bunny married Richard Button Sr., the love of her life.
Bunny was a 45-year member of the Grand Chapter of Vermont Order of the Eastern Star and Lady Washington Chapter 86. She served as worthy grand matron in 2012.
She leaves her husband, Rich, of 37 years; along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and her brother Marvin Carey, of Barre; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Evelyn Carey; and brothers Clayton Carey and Donnie Carey.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 11, at 2:30 pm at the United Church of Chelsea.
