WILMINGTON- May A. “Betty” Jones, 89, of South Windsor, CT, died surrounded by love on July 13. She was born on February 15, 1930 in Bennington to the late Raymond and Alice Shays and married to the late Francis Jones. She resided in East Hartford, CT and Wilmington.
Mrs. Jones worked for the Travelers for 20 years, retiring to her home on Lake Raponda where she made many precious memories. She loved puzzles, gardening, bingo, crocheting, and knitting hats for children. She was a woman of strong faith, embracing the love of her deep Catholic roots. She is survived by her children Daniel and his wife Robyn, Mark, Gary, and Darlene; grandchildren Amanda, Olivia, and Emma whose love, help, and support was so very appreciated; Jennifer, Belinda, Jeremiah, Chris, and Shana; and several great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Jeannette Jones and was preceded in death by siblings Raymond, Harold, and June.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 12 pm, at Our Lady of Fatima. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington. A celebration of life will be held on July 28 at the home of Robyn and Dan, at 4 pm.
