Marie Howe

KEENE, NH - Marie Agnes Farrington Howe, 87, a resident of Water Street, died Tuesday, March 15, at Cheshire Medical Center.
Marie was born in Brattleboro, VT, on October 31, 1934, the daughter of the late James W. and Grace Bishop Farrington. She attended local schools and graduated from Whitingham High School class of 1952. After raising her four children, she graduated from the Putnam School of Nursing as an LPN. Later she graduated from Berkshire Community College with an associate degree in nursing, becoming an RN. Marie worked at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center from 1969 until her retirement on November 1, 1997.
Marie was a former member of the North Bennington Baptist Church. She was a very curious individual who loved seeing or learning about something new. She enjoyed visiting museums, traveling, playing games, and spending time with her family.
Marie is survived by her children Brenda Howe, of Keene, Holly Mitchell (David), of Camden, AR, Bernard Howe (Pamela), of Browns Summit, NC, and Scott Howe (Annie), of Williamsburg, VA; her brother David Farrington (Linda), of Whitingham, VT; grandchildren Leona, Lance, and Chad Mitchell and Brett and Matthew Happel; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Marie will be held Friday, March 25, at 11 am at the Whitingham Community Church. Interment will be in Sadawga Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
