Margaret Chase

WILMINGTON- Margaret E. Chase, 76, a resident of Higley Hill Road, died on Sunday, July 9, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
Margaret was born in Ashfield, MA, on December 11, 1946, the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Finlay) Broadwell. She attended schools in Massachusetts, graduating from Sanderson Academy and attending community college. She worked at Dot’s Restaurant for the Sparrow family as a waitress and a housekeeper for many years before going into retail as a clerk, retiring in 2017.
She enjoyed watching television, politics, and playing video games on her phone.  In her earlier years  she was an avid reader.
Margaret is survived by her children, Vicki Haggerty, of Wilmington; James E. Chase (Anna), of East Dover; stepchildren Robert E. Chase (Janice), of Middletown, CT; and Cheryl Chase, of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by her brother Raymond Broadwell, of Petersburgh, NY; sisters Mary Ann Johnson (Art), of Petersburgh, NY, and Jessie Morgan, of Union, ME; grandchildren Andrew, Chloe, Ashley, Kate, and Nate; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
