Luanne Crosby

JACKSONVILLE - Luanne (Trask) Mace Crosby, 92, died Saturday, September 18, at home surrounded by family.
The daughter of Dr. Roswell G. Mace, MD, and Elizabeth (Trask) Mace, Luanne was born December 30, 1928 in Springfield, MA. Before retiring to Jacksonville, Luanne and Bob raised their family in Stamford, CT, where she also worked as a medical technologist.
At home in Vermont, Luanne loved her farm, gardening, wild birds, pets, and local friends with whom she participated in projects galore. She was a member of Jacksonville Community Church. Always generous with her time and energy, the community will greatly miss her.
Luanne was preceded in death by her husband Robert Allen Crosby Sr; and her brother John Lansing Mace. She is survived, and will forever be loved and remembered, by her children Diane E. Crosby, of Wilton, NH, Robert A. Crosby Jr. (Abigail), of Jacksonville, and Peter M. Crosby, of Colorado Springs, CO.  She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Tate Crosby and Nell Crosby, of Colorado; her brother John’s family; Bob Sr.’s siblings’ families; and many great friends.
Luanne’s family would like to thank her caregiver Mya, from Blessed Care for the Elderly, her nurse Kyle, from Bayada Hospice, and, of course, Dr. Peter Park, MD. All helped make it possible for Luanne to live in her home through her passing.
A celebration of life for Luanne will be held 11 am, Saturday, October 23, at the Jacksonville Community Church, with a gathering immediately following at her home on Collins Road. Interment will be private at another date in Jacksonville Cemetery.
If friends desire gifts in Luanne’s memory may be made to the ALS Association or Cancer Society of one’s choice c/o Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home, PO Box 215, Wilmington, VT 05363.
