Julia Fox

JACKSONVILLE - Julia Anne (Bartlett) Fox, 85, a resident of Jacksonville, died Sunday, May 16, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
Julia was born in West Dover on October 7, 1936, the daughter of the late Halbert and Gertrude (Howard) Bartlett. She attended Dover schools and graduated from Wilmington High School in 1954. Julia worked at Coombs Maple Products as a bookkeeper, the Readsboro Chair Shop, and was clerk and treasurer for 36 years with the Village of Jacksonville Electric Company, retiring in 2002.
Julia was past matron of the Mayflower Chapter 19 of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Whitingham, trustee of the Whitingham Historical Society, and a member of the Jacksonville Community Church. She enjoyed crocheting; reading; baking for everyone,  especially fudge; and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Julia is survived by her children Sherrie Fox, of Searsburg, Laurie Fox Brown (Greg), of Whitingham, and Tommy Fox (Holly), of Halifax; brothers Reginald Bartlett (Donna), of Wilmington, James Bartlett (Barbara), of New York, sister Teresa Brissett (James), of Mims, FL; grandchildren Derick Lind, Molly Corse, Jessica Fox, and Ethan Fox; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Reginald Fox, whom she married June 30, 1956, in the West Dover Church. He died May 30, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Howard Bartlett, Irene Sherman, Caroline Wheeler, and Sandra Johnson.
Graveside funeral services for Julia will be held Tuesday, May 24, at 2 pm at Jacksonville Village Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
