John Jones

WINCHESTER, NH- John Bart Jones, 66, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 7, in the comfort of his home.
He was born on April 26, 1956, to Elizabeth (Bartholomew) and the late Thomas Bebb Jones in Van Wert, OH. John was educated at Spencerville High School in Spencerville, OH, class of 1974. After graduating John attended Ohio Northern University, earning his bachelor’s degree in music performance, class of 1978.
John played trumpet professionally for most of his life as an avocation. He performed with Southside Rhythm & Blues; Buddy Young Orchestra; Ed Williams Big Band; Stormwatch; Cotton Mouth; Raider Eddie and the Skeletones; VJC Big Band, of Vermont; Joe V Latin Big Band, of Massachusetts; Keene Jazz Orchestra, of New Hampshire; and the No Sax Trumpet Quartet.
Over the years John enjoyed his time working for Tucker Transportation, Brattleboro Taxi, Hilltop House - now Bradley House - Blue Mountain Produce, and Hobson’s Choice, among others.
John had a love for motorcycles, going boating, and playing games. He enjoyed playing the trumpet, camping, having cookouts, spontaneous road trips, and just hanging out with his family.
John is survived by his mother Elizabeth “Bartie” Jones, of Sandusky, OH; partner-fiancée Rhonda Aither, of Winchester; sister Lynn A. Jones and husband Thomas Dewhirst, of Kalamazoo, MI; and his brother-in-law Mike Muhn, of Sandusky, OH; along with acquired children Arnold Tirrell, Lacy Daly, Amanda Woodward, and Ben and Tara Aither; some little ones that called him grandpa, or PaPa; and nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. John is now rejoined with his father Thomas Bebb Jones, who died in 1999, and his sister Judy Muhn, who died on February 26.
