Janet E. Kierys

WILMINGTON - Janet E. Kierys, 74, died peacefully May 20 at home after a difficult struggle with MDS.
Born in Ware, MA, on January 25, 1947, she was the spouse of Barbara Willenbrock for 38 years.
Ms. Kierys was a graduate of American International College and received a master’s degree at Westfield State College. Her entire career was spent teaching in the Enfield, CT public school system fulfilling her love and gift of educating children.
Upon retiring to Vermont in 2002, Ms. Kierys volunteered with several organizations in the Deerfield Valley. She loved to write poetry and make friends laugh with her puns. She also spent her last few winters in Florida where she had many friends.
Besides her spouse Barbara, Ms. Kierys is survived by her sister-in-law Paula McCarthy; her nephews Brian, Matt, and Dan; brother-in-law, Richard Willenbrock; and an aunt, an uncle, and several cousins.
It was her wish to have a celebration of life in her backyard, to be held at a later date.
