James E. Craven

WHITINGHAM- James Edward Craven, 49, died unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, March 25.     
Mr. Craven was born on April 2, 1971, in Taunton,  MA, to Joan M. Henry and Alfred A. Craven.  A graduate of Taunton High School, he went on to join the Navy, where he became a member of the Navy’s Elite Special Boat Unit XI.
After moving to Wilmington in 2007, he worked alongside his father Alfred Craven for Craven’s Home Services, which he proudly took over in 2019.  
Mr. Craven is survived by his wife Melissa Craven; daughter Brianna Flanagan; his beloved dog Elvis; siblings Alfred Craven Jr.,  Kajsa (Ryan) Reed, Taylor (Allegra) Craven, Eric (Becca) Craven; and many aunts, uncles,  nephews, nieces, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his loving parents Joan M. Henry, Alfred A. Craven Sr., and Meredith Craven; and his beloved grandmother Alice Henry.
