Jacqueline Lackey

WILMINGTON - Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Lackey, 60, died peacefully on Monday, September 13, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, after a brief illness.
Jackie was born on November 21, 1960, to Gary and Sandra Lackey. She grew up in Wilmington and attended local schools, graduating from Wilmington High School in the class of 1978. Jackie went on to graduate from Hesser College in Manchester, NH, in 1980.
Jackie held many jobs over the years, but her love was being a paramedic and helping people however she could. She worked at Mount Snow Base First Aid in the early years and as an EMT for Deerfield Valley Rescue for over 10 years. Jackie started working in Connecticut at L&M Ambulance Services and then American Medical Response for most of her career. While working in Connecticut, Jackie made many close lifelong friends.
She will always be known as a loyal, trustworthy friend with a great sense of humor who always found a way to make people laugh.  She loved her job, loved helping people, loved her family and friends, traveling, playing bingo, and listening to classic rock, especially Aerosmith.
Jackie is survived by her father, Gary Lackey (Carol), of Wilmington; siblings Lorri Lackey Hall (Jon), of Wilmington, Russell Lackey (Cathy) of Wilmington, and Chad Lackey (Anne), of Jacksonville; her niece, Riley Hall, of Texas; nephews Mitchell Hall, of Brattleboro, and Alex Lackey, of Jacksonville; her aunt Burdys Crawford, of Readsboro; and many cousins and close friends. She also leaves behind her many Connecticut EMS family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Lackey on March 13, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that any memorial gifts in Jackie’s name be made payable to Southern Vermont Therapeutic Riding Center, 3 Cross Country Circle, Wilmington, VT 05363 (http://www.sovtrc.org/donate-now.html). Jackie’s nephew Alex is a participant at the Southern Vermont Therapeutic Riding Center and Jackie was a full supporter of Alex and all his activities.
A celebration of life party with family and friends will be held at Jackie’s house on Saturday, October 16.  The family would like to thank everyone for their continued support during this difficult time.
