Irma U. Barlett
Winchester, NH- Irma U. Bartlett, 86, a resident of Snow Road, died Tuesday, August 29, at Applewood Nursing Home.
Irma was born in Warwick, MA, on September 12, 1936, the daughter of the late Warren and Edith (Hescock) Underwood. She attended local schools, graduating from Wilmington, VT, High School.
Irma worked as a postal clerk for the US Postal Service for 30 years. She loved to bake, enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, bowling, church activities, and the 1955 Group. She cherished times spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irma is survived by her children Wendy Brown and her significant other Gary Sanderson, of Keene, and Tammy Brown, of Brattleboro, VT; son Kelly Bartlett and his significant other Angel Estepp, of Berry, KY; her sister Eleanor Wager, of Springfield, VT; brothers Stewart Underwood (Carolyn), of Jamaica, VT, Clyde Underwood (Glenice) and Ronald Underwood (Emily), both of South Londonderry, VT, and Greg Underwood (Jeanette), of Wardsboro, VT; grandchildren Josh (Kate), David (Elicia), Brian (Amy), Susan (Kris), Lisa (Brandon), and Ryan (Alex); 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband Howard Bartlett, who she married June 25, 1955, and her brother Leland Underwood.
Graveside funeral services for Irma will be held Saturday, September 16, at 11 am in Sadagwa Cemetery in Whitingham, VT. There are no visiting hours.
