Helen Bowen

EAST DOVER - Helen (Hella Gerda Kreschollek) Bowen died Friday, February 11, after a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1925 to August and Margarete (Schönfließ) Kreschollek in Deutsch Eylau, East Prussia, Germany. She grew up on Staten Island, NY, lived most of her life in Ware, MA, and recently moved to East Dover.
She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, word games, travel, and, most of all, reading. She was a big fan of the Celtics, Patriots, and for the last two years the Tampa Bay Bucs.
She is survived by her daughters Bev and Pat Bowen, grandchildren Ben and Kate Bowen, great-granddaughter Nora Bowen, daughter-in-law Jan Whitney, and son-in-law Phil Bowen, all of Vermont. She also leaves her sister Sandy Jock, of Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Benny (Lester) Bowen, grandson Ian Bowen, sister Lil Jarvis, and brother Walter Kreschollek.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.
