Elizabeth Miller

STAFFORD SPRINGS, CT- Elizabeth “Bette” (McDonough) Miller, 93, died on Friday, July 20, at Evergreen Healthcare. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late James and Bessie (Hall) McDonough.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin “Ted” Miller; her six beloved brothers and sisters; her brother-in-law John Miller; her sons-in-law David Thomas, John Hartman, and Ben Giove; and many of her dear friends.  She lived many years in Wilmington, VT.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her three children Leslie Thomas, of Madison, Linda Hartman, of Branford, and Doug Miller and his wife Sharon, of Somers;  her sister-in-law Francie Miller, of Maryland; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Miller cared for her friends just as she did her family.  She worked at Mount Snow and the Swe-Den-Nor furniture store in Wilmington. She was involved in Horizon Tours, a family entertainment business for bus tours that was started by her husband, Ted. She was very active in Our Lady of Fatima church in Wilmington for many years.
Mrs. Miller will always be remembered for her sincere caring and love for her family and friends, her wonderful humor, and her comforting way for those in need and everyone she came in contact with. She lived a long and full life with her family and friends and was loved by those she met throughout her life journey.
A Christian Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilmington, VT, on Wednesday, August 1, at 12 pm in celebration of her life.
