Charles Watson
WILMINGTON - Charles F. Watson, 80, a former Wilmington resident and past co-owner of The Vermont House and Cane’s Tavern, died peacefully on Sunday, November 28, near his brother in Hilton Head, SC.
Charlie was born on June 13, 1941, in Rochester, NY. He enjoyed spending his time on the golf course dressed in pastels, attending the Saratoga Race Course every August, and cruising in one of the many large cars he owned throughout his life. He was an accomplished chef and cooked delicious breakfasts and the occasional midsummer Thanksgiving feast. He spent most of his retirement living in Sarasota, FL.
He is survived by his daughter Danielle, of Wayland, MA, her husband Justin, and their two children Ryan and Elle; his brother Steve, of Hilton Head, SC; sister Marlya, of North Port, FL, and their respective spouses, Pam and John; his niece Kelsey Watson Reid; and nephew Scott Long.
At this time no services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to the Windham County Humane Society, PO Box 397, Brattleboro, VT 05301 (windhamcountyhumane.org) or to a local animal shelter.
