Candace Dix

WILMINGTON - Candace E. Dix, 62, fondly known as Candi, died on Wednesday, February 2.
Candace worked the front desk at Andirons Lodge in West Dover for many years, where she made many lifelong friends. After Andirons closed, she worked for a wholesale tour company until the pandemic. One of her favorite places was the beach at Wards Cove in Wilmington. She was an avid NASCAR fan and rooted for Jeff Gordon since his rookie year.
Candace was preceded in death by her mother Laura E. Dix, father Howard C. Dix, and brother Randall B. Dixon. She is survived by her fiancé and partner of 40 years, Bruce Fuller, of Wilmington; sister Lorraine Saunders (Walter Coltey), of West Dover; and brother Charles “Skip” (Terry) Dix, of Whitingham. She is also survived by nieces and nephews John (Michelle) Knapp and daughter Karli; James Knapp (Amy Kaneshro) and sons James and Alexander; Laural (Russell) Colbert and son Dale; April (Art) Pieger and children Katalina and Beneteau; Melanie (Darby) Howe and daughters Madison and Hailey; Victoria Groeger and daughters Alicia Lassiter, Ashley, and Amber Groeger; Samantha (Brad) Betit and children Marissa, Miranda, and Kaleb; and Sarah (Rodney) Sprague and children Conner, Caden, and Collin. She also leaves behind many close-knit cousins. If it wasn’t for the loving care she received from her lifelong partner Bruce and her sister, her journey through these last few months would have been impossible.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Deerfield Valley Rescue. To send personal condolences visit www.sheafuneralhomes.com.
