Betsey Reagan


Wilmington- Mary Elizabeth (Betsey) Reagan, 61, a resident of Ray Hill Road, died February 9 at her home.
Betsey was born in Bethpage, NY, on March 21, 1961, the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Griffin) Reagan. She graduated from McArthur High School in Levittown, NY, and earned her bachelor’s degree in fashion and business from Westbury College in Long Island, NY.
In her earlier years, Betsey was the youngest window dresser for many large retail stores. Upon moving to Vermont, she owned and operated Dot’s Restaurant of Dover for many years. Betsey enjoyed shopping, was always in fashion, and was known as a fashion plate. She was a member of the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce and volunteered at Twice Blessed.
Betsey is survived by her sister Phyllis Arnold (Al), of Virginia and Florida; brother Paul Reagan (Jane), of Quechee; sister-in-law Patti Reagan, of Wardsboro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother John Reagan.
A Mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 28, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, of which she was a member.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, February 27, from 4 to 6 pm at Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home, 44 East Main Street, Wilmington. Interment will be held in the spring in Riverview Cemetery next to her parents.
