Arthur W. “Art” Wright

DOVER- Arthur W. “Art” Wright, 80, died on September 24 at  Grace Cottage Hospice surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Wright was born on July 15, 1939, on South Hill in Jamaica, the son of Ernest Lane and Ruth Wright, and was brought up by his aunts and the Lowe family.
Among his many talents and jobs, Mr. Wright logged with horse teams, was the ranger at the Stratton Mountain Scout Reservation,  the head of maintenance at the former Haystack ski area, the municipal water treatment operator at Cold Brook Fire District and many other plants, and was the co-owner of the Maple Leaf Country Store in East Dover. He was also an excellent welder.
Mt. Wright enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, traveling (he had been to 47 states), visiting with friends and family, and helping anyone he could.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Joyce; and his companion of two years, Marie Paradis. He leaves his son, Art Wright Jr. and his wife Pam; his grandson, Art Wright III, his significant other, Trisha Ellison, and their son, Art Wright IV; his daughter, Marcia Horrigan and her husband Pat, their daughter, Crystal Durocher and her children, Sophia and Gemma; his best friends, Donna and Roger Ellis and Buster and Laura Dowley; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A service to celebrate Mr. Wright’s wonderfully full life will be held in the spring at Kenolie Campground.
