Wilmington voters shoot down hospital fund request, retire listers’ role

WILMINGTON- Aside from the decision to continue to hold Town Meeting on its traditional time and day, 10 am on the first Tuesday of March, voters waded through 30 other articles on Tuesday.
Voters walked right into money issues, as Article 3 was to approve the town’s general fund budget of $2.6 million for fiscal year 2023-2024. Following that, Article 4 asked for just under $1.5 million for the road budget for FY24.
“For the first time in 10 years, our budget is up less than 1%,” said selectboard chair Tom Fitzgerald of the general fund numbers.
