Wilmington selectboard passes outdoor dining zoning amendment

By Mike Eldred
WILMINGTON- Selectboard members passed a temporary zoning amendment at a hearing Friday morning, which will allow the town's zoning administrator to issue permits for outdoor dining areas at local restaurants.
The amendment, added to Article 5, Section 531 B of the zoning ordinance, allows the zoning administrator to approve applications from businesses to "erect temporary fencing or other means of delineating outdoor areas for the sole purpose of extending dining." Under the ordinance, the permits can be issued for up to 120 days.
