WHITINGHAM- Moderator Leon Corse kicked off Whitingham’s 2024 Town Meeting with news that he would be retiring from his moderator duties after next year’s Town Meeting.
Corse has served as Whitingham’s moderator for 40 years, during which he has set a high standard of civility, discourse, and procedure at Town Meeting.  But Corse said the job is difficult and stressful, and has become more so with age.  He said he wanted to leave the job while he could still offer the benefit of his experience and support to his successor.
