JACKSONVILLE - Two days after shuttering the doors to the Jacksonville General Store for good, owner Heather Hebert’s voice cracks with emotion multiple times during a morning phone interview.
“I had someone say to me, ‘How do you feel about having your name be the one to connected to a 150-year-old business closing?’” she says, noting it’s hard not to cry when relaying the question. “My response to that is, it’s the times. This is not something I wanted to do. Ever. This was not the plan. It was not the plan.”
