Walling wins Whitingham election

WHITINGHAM- Voters elected Chris Walling to the selectboard by a substantial margin in a special election held Tuesday.
According to town clerk Almira Aekus, 169 voters of the town’s 943 voters participated in Tuesday’s election.  Surprisingly, she said the majority of the voters, 139, opted to vote in person, and 30 people requested absentee ballots.
Walling received 99 votes, candidate Richard Lemaire received 43 votes, and candidate Skip Tefft received 26 votes.  Aekus said there was also a write-in vote for Greg Brown.
