Vermonters, nation can now dial 988 for mental health crisis assistance

MONTPELIER - As of Saturday, July 16, Vermonters who are experiencing a mental health crisis can now dial 988 to receive immediate assistance. Modeled after 911, used for most types of emergencies, the crisis line is available 24 hours a day and is dedicated to mental health issues, including mental health crises and suicide. The network is nationwide.
