Valley towns lagging behind rest of state
DEERFIELD VALLEY - The United States Census Bureau is reporting low response rates throughout the Deerfield Valley, with some towns lagging severely behind state and national response rates. According to the census bureau, response rates by town are currently 27% in Whitingham, 27% in Halifax, 11% in Wilmington, 6% in Dover, 13% in Wardsboro and Jamaica, and 28% in Townshend. Even those above 20% are much lower than the national (60%) and state (51%) response rates.
