Two injured in early-morning truck crash

SEARSBURG- Two people were injured when a tractor-trailer overturned in icy conditions on Route 9 at about 4:24 am on Tuesday, January 8.
According to Wilmington Fire Chief Scott Moore, the truck was hauling a trailer loaded with produce, and traveling east over icy roads.  When the truck entered a sharp, downhill bend between Route 8 and Somerset Road, the driver lost control and the truck crossed the center line, striking the guardrail.  The truck overturned in the westbound lane and slid another 300 feet on its side, according to police.
