Transfer station permits double, tire fees inflate

WILMINGTON- At their first meeting of the new year, the Wilmington Selectboard discussed changes to transfer station fees, approved updated zoning articles and the general fund for fiscal year 2023, and discussed stormwater planning.
Transfer station operator Brandon Brassor spoke to the selectboard about changing fees for tire disposal. Until recently, he said, the town’s tire removal contractor would pick up tires from the transfer station. They are no longer offering the service and have raised their prices.
“We deal with roughly 200 tires each year,” said Brassor.
