Town to see reduction in property tax rate

DOVER- At its Tuesday meeting, the Dover Selectboard set the residential tax rate at 1.8866 cents and the non-residential tax rate at 1.9484 cents. The board opted not to use a portion of a $700,000 surplus from last year to buy down the rate.
The overall rates comprise a municipal rate of 0.4268 cents, which  treasurer Marco Tallini said is essentially flat, though slightly down (0.0029 cents). Tallini said the education homestead rate is slightly down but the non-resident education rate is up.
