WHITINGHAM- Voters at Town Meeting waded through 37 articles on Tuesday, deciding to do away with the town’s listers in favor of professional appraisers and approving most spending measures. Some of those approvals came with qualifications that urged the selectboard to be more transparent with taxpayers in matters of the purse.
Following a welcome from moderator Leon Corse and the Pledge of Allegiance by a local Boy Scout troop, the meeting wasted little time getting into meaty issues.
