Study shows gaps between local wages, affordable housing

WILMINGTON - The selectboards from Dover and Wilmington held a joint meeting Monday to hear about findings from a housing analysis and master plan prepared by Camoin Associates 310. The analysis showed a disconnect between wages and housing costs in the valley. One would-be developer of affordable housing said she halted a project when she found out sewer hookup fees would cost $300,000. In light of that, residents urged the boards to work across municipalities to make development of affordable housing possible.
