NEWFANE- Windham Superior Court Judge Robert P. Gerety has granted a motion by the Vermont Department of Taxes for default judgment in their case against Hermitage owner James Barnes.
The judgment awards the Vermont Department of Taxes a total of $1,081,151.42 in unpaid meals, rooms, alcohol, and retail sales taxes the Hermitage failed to pay in 2016, 2017, and 2018, as well as interest and penalties.
