WHITINGHAM- The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation has recently fined two property owners and their contractors for cutting vegetation along the shores of Lake Sadawga in violation of the state’s 2014 Shoreland Protection Act.
On December 17, Tyanoga Road property owners Tawnya and Eric Johnson and maintenance contractor Douglas Dix were fined $5,250 by Windham Superior Court Judge Katherine Hayes. As part of the penalty, DEC also required the landowner and contractor to reestablish the vegetation that was removed.
