Social media hiring checks are complicated

WARDSBORO - At Monday, October 7, meeting of the River Valleys Unified Union School District, the board pumped the brakes on pursuing social media checks as part of its hiring process, but fell short of disregarding the idea.
Former board member Kerry McDonald-Cady, who resigned from the school board after being appointed to the judiciary, had asked the board to look into whether social media accounts could be checked as part of the hiring process for staff members.
